By digitally collaging found images of attractive, air-brushed bodies,
Bimber allows some of the patriarchs of Israel the same cult worship accorded
to modern-day celebrities.

Jayson Bimber is an artist from Chicago, IL. After learning a traditional
use of photography, his work evolved into a more conceptual practice of the
medium. His current work employs appropriated imagery from contemporary magazines
to comment on representation in the media and art history. Jayson digitally
collages scanned images from fitness, fashion, celebrity, and pornographic
magazines to create monstrous people. These people are as much a comment on
the fabrication and retouching of people in the magazines as it is on the
strains people can place on their bodies to achieve the appearance found in
the media.
